COKES-ALTERNATIVE SOLID CARBONIZED FUELS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF

Coke-replacing solid carbonized fuels and a preparation method thereof are provided to prepare solid carbonized fuels having excellent combustibility and low sulfur content economically, simply and easily by using a woody or herbal biomass. A method of preparing a coke-replacing solid carbonized fuel comprises the steps of: (a) carbonizing a woody or herbal biomass to prepare a charcoal powder; (b) mixing fine iron ore and starch containing 75% or more of amylopectin with the prepared charcoal powder and molding the mixture to manufacture a molding; and (c) drying the manufactured molding to obtain a solid carbonized fuel. The starch containing 75% or more of amylopectin is added in the amount of 5 to 17 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the charcoal powder in the step(b). The starch containing 75% or more of amylopectin is cassava starch. The fine iron ore of the step(b) is added in the amount of 289 to 462 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the charcoal powder. The fine iron ore of the step(b) has a diameter of 1 to 5 mm. The method further comprises the step of crushing the molding to a diameter of 3 mm after drying the molding.
