A light emitting device and a display device using the same as a light source are provided to prevent charging of an electric charge in a side wall of a concave part by reducing an initial divergence angle of an electron beam. A first substrate(12) is faced with a second substrate(14). A sealing member is positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate. Concave parts(28) have a depth from one surface of the first substrate. Cathode electrodes(24) of a stripe pattern are formed on the concave parts. An electron emission part(22) is arranged on the cathode electrodes. An opening part(30) is formed in a mesh part(32). A gate electrode(26) includes a supporting part(34). A light emitting unit(20) is positioned in one surface of the second substrate.
