A system and a method for offering traffic information are provided to easily offer the real-time traffic information of an area close to a current location of a driver by collecting the traffic information of each broadcasting area of a broadcasting station. A broadcasting station(30) receives real-time traffic information of a broadcasting area from a traffic information collecting server(20), and standardizes and transmits the real-time traffic information through a predetermined channel. The broadcasting station transmits a broadcasting signal in the broadcasting area by including channel information and an IP(Internet Protocol) address of the traffic information collecting server in the broadcasting signal. A navigation terminal(10) transmits unit traffic information obtained from a current position to the traffic information collecting server by extracting the IP address of the traffic information collecting server from the broadcast signal and using the IP address. |
