An apparatus and a method for controlling a spindle servo of an optical disc drive are provided to control the rotation speed of a spindle of an optical disk drive at high speed and low speed by comparing the time to press an eject button with base time. An apparatus and a method for controlling a spindle servo of an optical disc drive comprises: a first step(S12) detecting the time to press an eject button in case(S11) the eject button of an optical disk drive is pressed down; and a second step(S13) varying spindle speed in case the time to be pressed becomes over the base time set in advance. In the second step, in case time to be pressed is over the base time and the present spindle speed is maximum speed(S16), the present spindle speed is converted into minimum speed(S17) and in case the present spindle speed is minimum speed(S18), the present spindle speed is converted into maximum speed.
