Disclosed is a computer method and system for providing on-demand data in response to on-demand data requests. A plurality of source data is provided which is associated with a plurality of generated and stored sub-processed data, the sub-processed data being a function of the source data. A plurality of processed data being functions of one or more of the sub-processed data are generated and stored and utilised as the on-demand data. Upon receipt of a further on-demand data request, respective ones of the sub-processed data are recalculated if one or more of the source data with which the sub-processed data are associated have been updated. The sub-processed data may be a function of one or more other sub-processed data and/or source data, and at least some of the source data are updated at respectively different predetermined periodic times and/or randomly. Another embodiment is for analysing customer requirements, for example using the above method and system, where extracted data relating to historical, current and projected sales data are provided to a salesperson to facilitate making a sales task decision based on a comparison of the data.
