<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively distinguish information of a battery, and to maintain at an ideal condition by accurately reading electric characteristics of a base battery for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply unit for a vehicle stores a plurality of battery modules in a case. Each module is formed by linearly connecting a plurality of base batteries, an identification code of the base battery is displayed on the surface of each base battery, and these identification codes are linearly arranged on the surfaces of respective base batteries.
