APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING, DISASSEMBLING AND STORING TIRE BUILDING CORE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of effectively assembling, disassembling and storing a plurality of core segments which form a tire assembling surface.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for assembling, disassembling and using a toroidally shaped segmented core 15 which has the plurality of core segments radially extended from the central axis and is configured to support a tire during a curing process includes: a transport mechanism which moves the segmented core 15 between a plurality of stations 16, 18, 22, 34 in a tire curing line 10; a segment detaching device which individually detaches the plurality of core segments from a cured tire and individually places the core segments on respective storage positions spaced apart from each other; and a core segment assembling device which individually detaches the plurality of core segments from respective segment storage positions and individually places the core segments on respective core positions to form an assembled segmented core 15.
