<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately suppress flow of corrosion current in power generation stop and power generation start, and improve the durability. <P>SOLUTION: A power generation stopping method includes a process for electrically cutting off a load from a fuel cell stack; a process for reducing fuel gas pressure in an anode and oxidant gas pressure in a cathode to that around the atmospheric pressure; a process stopping the supply of the fuel gas and the oxidant gas; and a process reducing or releasing the load applied to a fuel cell, and the flow of corrosion current is suppressed, by making the contact resistance between a solid polymer electrolyte membrane and the anode increase, and/or making the solid polymer electrolyte membrane ad the cathode, or making them separate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
