PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-purity lysophosphatidylethanolamine, further particularly by utilizing an enzymatic reaction capable of obtaining lysophosphatidylethanolamine in high purity under conditions of mixture with other phospholipid. SOLUTION: A hydrolase composed of phospholipase A<SB>1</SB>or A<SB>2</SB>is previously made to act on a crude raw material containing both of lysophosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylethanolamine to produce lysophosphatidylethanolamine from phosphatidylethanolamine, and then, a fraction containing all lysophosphatidylethanolamine is recovered.
