PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain copyright protection or the like of contents by controlling the maximum number of concurrent distributions over a network through simple distribution restriction control processing, so as to prohibit the contents from being utilized over a range of private utilization.

SOLUTION: An electronic device includes: a communication control means for controlling network communication; a device information acquiring means for acquiring device information of devices on the network; a distribution information generating means for generating distribution information; a distribution information transmitting means for transmitting the distribution information onto the network; and a control means for controlling a distribution restriction of the distribution information based on a result of comparing the number of network connected devices with the number of distribution restricted devices.
