<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device using a light emitting diode and a solid-state light emitting element, and a projector capable of projecting a high-luminance projection image by using the light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The projector is equipped with the light source device, a light guide device, a display element, a projection side optical system and a projector control means. The light source device includes a blue light emitting diode 161B functioning as a first light source 153 converting electric energy into exciting light, and a fluorescent material 169 formed like a plate and functioning as a second light source 154 receiving emitted light from the first light source 153 and emitting light having different spectral distribution from that of emitted light from the first light source 153, wherein area of the emitting region of the first light source 153 is formed to be wider than the area of the emitting region of the second light source 154. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
