PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable common use of assembly equipment of a storage device even if head actuators of different inertia are used. SOLUTION: A VCM (Voice Coil Motor) 30c, which generates a magnetic field that gives a rocking force to an actuator of a magnetic disk device, generates a magnetic field which gives the rocking force suitable for the actuator 20 of different inertia by properly combining changes of height H<SB>12</SB>of downward magnet 30c-3 and/or height H<SB>13</SB>of upward magnet 30c-4, and changes of an inner diameter r<SB>1</SB>and/or outer diameter R<SB>1</SB>as far as yoke material and a magnet of the same material are used regardless of inertia of the actuator. This enables a base casing 30c-1, the downward yoke material 30c-2, the upward yoke material 30c-5, a damper 30c-6 and a damper 30c-7 to be produced as parts of the same specifications.
