PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dieless working method by which a workpiece can be deformed into a cross section of similar figure to the cross sectional shape before working even the workpiece is whatever shape. SOLUTION: This invention is applied to a dieless working method by which the heated part of the workpiece is deformed by imparting tensile force or compressive force in the longitudinal direction by a moving means while heating a long size workpiece W from the outer periphery by a heating means. In this method, when heating the workpiece W, heat input quantity to the outer peripheral surface of the workpiece by the heating means is changed depending a position in the peripheral direction corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the workpiece W.
