PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for heating the edge parts of a hot dip galvanized steel sheet which has correct and sufficient temperature rising capacity to the edge parts of the hot dip galvanized steel sheet moving at a high speed, and uniformly alloying the edge parts. SOLUTION: The heating device comprises: burners oppositely arranged on both the edge parts of a hot dip galvanized steel sheet moving to an alloying furnace and heating both the edge parts with flame obtained by burning a gas generated by water electrolysis; a laser sensor detecting the positions of the edge parts in the hot dip galvanized steel sheet; a burner moving device part moving the burners to the right and left directions in the width direction of the hot dip galvanized steel sheet; and a heating control part controlling the operation of the burner moving device part in such a manner that the burners follow up the edge parts of the steel sheet in accordance with the detected result from the laser sensor. Further, the burners can be moved to the cross directions regulating the spacing between the hot dip galvanized steel sheet and each burner, and the burners can be moved to the vertical directions as the moving directions of the hot dip galvanized steel sheet.
