While a temperature of a reactor is not lower than a first specified value Th, ON/OFF of a booster switch element (3) is restricted. That is, in the converter comprising; a converter circuit (1) comprising boosted power supply means (3, 6) outputting a battery power as a secondary voltage Vuc after boosting the battery power by the reactor (2) connected to a battery (18) and by ON/OFF switching of a booster switch element (3) connected thereto; and controlling means (30v, 20v) for implementing a PWM control for ON/OFF of the booster switch element so as to make the secondary voltage match a target voltage Vuc*, the converter comprises a reactor temperature sensor (7), and the controlling means (30v, 20v) restricts boosting ON/OFF operations of the booster switch element when the reactor temperature rises to the first specified value or higher. |
