A plug for an optical connector comprises a housing (101), an optical connector matrix (102) installed in the housing (101), and a light blocking device (1031, 1032) movably connected to the inner wall of the housing (101) for covering the opening of the housing (101) and thus avoiding light leakage and preventing the dust. A receptacle for an optical connector comprises a housing (401), an optical connector matrix (402) installed in the housing (401), and positioning pins (404) disposed at the lower wall of the housing (401) for pushing the light blocking device (1031, 1032) of the plug open, the top of the positioning pins (404) being higher than the top surface of the optical connector matrix (402). An optical connector comprising the plug and receptacle for an optical connector is also provided.
