摘要 Disclosed is a lithium manganate particle powder having a primary particle diameter of 1-8 µm and substantially composed of single-phase particles. This lithium manganate particle powder is characterized by having a composition satisfying the following chemical formula: Li1+xMn2-x-yY1yO4 + Y2 (wherein Y1 is at least one of Ni, Co, Mg, Fe, Al, Cr and Ti; Y2 is P; 0.03 = x = 0.15; 0.05 = y = 0.20; and Y2 is 0.01-0.6 mol% relative to Mn). The lithium manganate particle powder is also characterized in that the lithium manganate particles have a specific surface area of 0.3-0.9 m2/g (as determined by a BET method) and an average particle diameter (D50) of 3-10 µm. A positive electrode active material for lithium ion secondary batteries which uses such a lithium manganate has high output and excellent high-temperature stability.
