<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery enhancing the cycle lifetime characteristics and discharge potential characteristics, and to provide a manufacturing method for the material. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material for the lithium secondary battery contains a core, including a lithium compound having the specific composition having at least at least one among manganese, nickel and cobalt, forming secondary particles which have an average particle size of 1-10 μm aggregating one or more primary particles which have an average particle size of 1-3 μm, and a surface treatment layer containing oxide containing boron or its mixture formed on the core. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
