<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bis(formylphenyl)compound which is a new polynuclear phenolic compound useful as an intermediate of a new multinuclear polyphenol compound which can be used in photosensitive resist compositions. <P>SOLUTION: The bis(formylphenyl)compound is represented by the formula (wherein R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each an alkyl group or an alkoxy group; R<SB>3</SB>is a monocyclic or condensed cyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon group which may have a monocyclic or condensed cyclic aromatic hydrocarbon group; R<SB>4</SB>is hydrogen or an alkyl group; R<SB>5</SB>and R<SB>6</SB>are each a divalent aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon group; m is 0 or an integer of 1-3; and n is 0 or an integer of 1-3; and k is an integer of 1-3, provided that when k is 2 or more, R<SB>6</SB>, R<SB>1</SB>, and n of each phenyl may be the same or different). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
