An audio mixing/reproducing device is provided with, in addition to an audio decoder (11) for decoding an encoded audio input signal, an audio mixer (13) for mixing an audio signal outputted from the audio decoder (11) and an external audio input signal that is not encoded, an audio encoder (12) for encoding an audio signal outputted from the audio mixer (13) to generate an encoded audio output signal, a switch (14) for generating a switching signal for controlling operations of the audio decoder (11) and the audio encoder (12) in response to a switching excitation signal. The audio decoder (11) and the audio encoder (12) each support plural encoding schemes, and when switching the encoding scheme in the audio decoder (11) from a first encoding scheme to a second encoding scheme, the switch (14) performs control so as to switch the encoding scheme in the audio encoder (12) similarly from the first encoding scheme to the second encoding scheme.
