<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable dispersion compensation control method and a variable dispersion compensation control device which can elongate a lifetime of VDC as long as possible and extend a life of a device. <P>SOLUTION: A variable dispersion compensation control method which varies a dispersion compensation value by controlling a variable part of a variable dispersion compensator and which compensates a dispersion characteristic of an optical transmission line gets an optical signal received from the optical transmission line, extracts a clock component from the optical signal, and stops the control of the variable dispersion compensator when the clock component is not extracted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
