<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller which can be operated intuitively, does not require much time for learning operation, and is excellent in convenience, operability and affinity. <P>SOLUTION: The remote controller is provided for operating, as a device to be controlled, a set-top box connected to a television or a display, a mobile phone, a game machine or the like, and the remote controller comprises: an optical reader for reading a dot pattern provided on a prescribed medium surface; a body which is provided successively to the optical reader and can be held like a pen or gripped; a conversion part for analyzing a dot code and/or a coordinate value from the dot pattern read from the optical reader and converting the dot code and/or the coordinate value into corresponding one, two or more transmission codes; a manipulation part which is provided on a body surface near the optical reader, can be manipulated with a tip of a finger, moves a cursor, selects a menu, and selects or determines a program; and a transmission part for transmitting the transmission code converted by the conversion part and a manipulation instruction command of the manipulation part to the device to be controlled as a signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
