摘要 A system and a method for a cascode switching power amplifier are provided to minimize power loss due to a leakage current in a subthreshold region/weak inversion region in a CMOS cascode device by using a BS-cascode structure. A power amplifier system(200) includes a BS-cascode switching amplifier(220) and an impedance transformation network(216). A first common-source device has a first source, a first gate, a first drain and a first body. The first source is connected to the first body and the first gate is connected to the input port. A second common-gate device has a second source, a second gate, a second drain and a second body. The second source is connected to the first drain and the second body. The second drain is connected to the output port. The load network is connected to the output port.
