PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a header tank consisting of an extruded aluminum alloy tube for heat exchangers which has excellent extrudability and corrosion resistance and is minimal in strength reduction even if subjected to thickness reduction to an extent greater than ever before and can be brazed even if the quantity of a brazing filler metal used is reduced. SOLUTION: The header tank is composed of an extruded material of an aluminum alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 1.2 to 1.6% Mn, 0.8 to 1.2% Si, 0.1 to <0.3% Cu and the balance Al with inevitable impurities.
