A method for improving the switching speed of an IPTV channel through a buffering server is provided to improve a channel switching speed by reducing the waste of a bandwidth. A buffering server receives broadcast data from an AV encoder in multicasting(S11), and adds a header, which includes sequence information, to the received broadcasting data(S13). The buffering server transmits the broadcasting data in unicasting after a certain time elapses(S15,S16). A set-top box synchronizes the received broadcasting data based on the sequence information extracted from the header(S17). |
