Disclosed is an easily-producible lightweight thin optical filter for displays, which is excellent in electromagnetic shielding properties and antireflective properties, and hardly generates interference patterns. Specifically disclosed is an optical filter for displays, wherein a mesh conductive layer and a hard coat layer are formed on one surface of a transparent film in this order and a near-infrared absorbing layer is formed on the other surface of the transparent film. This optical filter for displays is characterized in that an intermediate layer is formed between the transparent film and the mesh conductive layer and the intermediate layer has a refractive index within the range of 1.60-1.80 and a contact angle within the range of 70-100 degrees.
