PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND PLASMA DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve luminance of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: A plasma display panel includes a discharge cell comprising: a discharge space 15; a phosphor film 12 contacting the discharge space 15; a holding portion (barrier ribs 11 and a dielectric layer 10) sectioning the discharge space 15 and holding the phosphor film 12 on an opposite side of the phosphor film 12 to the discharge space 15 side; and gas filled in the discharge space 15 and emitting ultraviolet light by discharge. The phosphor film 12 includes a phosphor layer 13 emitting visible rays by excitation caused by ultraviolet light and a reflective layer 14 reflecting visible rays, and the phosphor layer 13 is provided between the reflective layer 14 and the discharge space 15. The reflective layer 14 has a film thickness of≤15μm and has a refractive index of≥1.7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
