PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that broad width near the peak of flux density of a flux density pattern can not be efficiently and stably made large in the conventional magnet roller, so that amount of developer passing a developer regulating plate is varied, consequently, image irregularities are caused, and high image quality can not be achieved. SOLUTION: A notched part is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a magnet piece nearly perpendicularly to a line linking a position of the peak of flux density formed by the magnet piece with the center of the magnet roller.
