PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator provided with an inexpensive door opening device, capable of improving usability by increasing and decreasing generative force according to load by displacement in opening a door, and making a solenoid be easily used by miniaturized as generative force corresponding to a maximum value of the load is unnecessary. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is provided with the door 9 for closing a front opening portion of a storage compartment 5, a switch 16 activated by an operation to the door, and a door opening unit 15 disposed at a main body side opposite to a back face of the door and opening the door by an operation of the switch. The door opening unit performs the door opening motion by allowing a pressing bar 23 at a tip of a plunger 22 attracted by power distribution to a solenoid 18 formed by winding a coil on an outer periphery of a pipe and axially moved in the pipe, to project forward, and the generative force characteristics of the solenoid to a moving distance of the plunger has two or more peaks.
