PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip having improved mounting accuracy and mounting rigidity resulting in improved machining accuracy and tool life. SOLUTION: The throw-away tip comprises an approximately flat tip body 10, a cutting edge 11 formed at the front end of the tip body 10, and a mounting hole 12 formed passing through the center of the tip body 10. It is inserted into a tip mounting groove 3 provided in a front end 2 of a tool body 1, and detachably mounted in the tip mounting groove 3 with a clamp screw 20 threaded into a clamp hole 4 crossing the tip mounting groove 3 through the mounting hole 12. The tip body 10 has a receiving portion 13 for engaging with a thrust portion 6e of a thrust member 6 which thrusts the tip body 10 provided on the tool body 1 to the side of the tool base end, to receive the thrust.
