<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user's comfort by making brightness of LED variable in an air conditioner comprising a display portion having the LED for displaying an operating state of an air conditioner and the like, on an indoor unit. <P>SOLUTION: The control device 1 of the indoor unit has a control portion 2 for controlling motion of the air conditioner, and the display portion 3 displaying an operating state, and the display portion 3 is divided into the LED 6, a driving circuit 5 for switching on/off the LED 6, and an illumination control portion 4 for transmitting a signal to the driving circuit 5.
