PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass sheet grinding method for selecting the type of an abrasive material and grinding a glass sheet with no grinding irregularity in glass grinding processes in duplex-type glass sheet manufacturing facilities to attain desired surface roughness in a short time. SOLUTION: The glass ribbon grinding method comprises making a grinding pad abut on a glass ribbon being carried in an upstream region of a glass ribbon grinding device while rotating a grinder on the grinding surface of which the grinding pad is pasted, to grind the glass ribbon while supplying a rouge abrasive material, and then making the grinding pad abut on the glass ribbon being carried in the downstream region while rotating the grinder on the grinding surface of which the grinding pad is pasted, to grind the glass ribbon while supplying a ceria abrasive material.
