A pretensioner has a cylinder (11) to which a first cable (13A) is connected, a piston (12) moving in the cylinder and to which a second cable (13B) is connected, and a gas generator (28) for supplying gas into expansion chamber (20) in the cylinder (11) to move piston in a first direction and move the cylinder in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The piston is connected to the second cable via a piston rod (21). A tube member (22) into which the piston rod is movably inserted is provided in the expansion chamber.
