PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a technological means as a concrete block for being laid along an edge of a road, a boundary between a sidewalk and a roadway, a boundary between driving lanes of the road, etc., which can enhance safety during the passage of a pedestrian and a vehicle at night by requiring only a low cost and a light work burden, and which can also improve a landscape on the periphery of the road. SOLUTION: In this road structure, the boundary block 1 is laid or buried like a ridge or in a stepped shape along boundary lines such as the boundary between the sidewalk and the roadway, a boundary between the roadway and a medial strip, and a boundary between driving lanes of the roadway, or in such a manner that a top surface is set almost flush with a road surface; and a lighting fixture 11 is built in the laid or buried boundary block 1, so that the road surface near the boundary can be illuminated with the lighting fixture 11 or so that light can be emitted upward. Since the road surface is illuminated with the light in a position near the road surface, the luminance of the road surface can be secured by using a small quantity of light, that is, low electric power. Additionally, a curve of the driving lane can be visually recognized from a distance, and the installation of a lighting fixture for illuminating a tree or a monument becomes unnecessary.
