PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high speed filling to be performed, and also, to control a filling liquid level in a container to be uniform. SOLUTION: A filling nozzle 31 is inserted in the mouth section N of a bottle B, and the mouth section N is sealed. Under a state in which an air feeding/discharging passage 51 communicating with the bottle B through the filling nozzle 31 is opened to the atmospheric air side, the pressurized filling liquid is filled at a high speed from a liquid feeding passage 41 which communicates with the bottle B through the filling nozzle 31. In this case, a feeding air at a lower pressure than the pressure of the filling liquid is fed into the bottle B from the air feeding/discharging passage 51 at the latter half section of a filling section to reduce the filling speed, and the filling is switched to a low speed filling. When the filling liquid reaches the filling nozzle 31 to detect the filling liquid which flows into the air feeding/discharging passage 51 from the filling nozzle 31, the feeding of the filling liquid is stopped.
