PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound volume adjusting device with which a user can intuitively adjust sound volume, speech apparatus, sound volume adjusting device control program, and sound volume adjusting system. SOLUTION: When making a speech with an external device 200 by a telephone function of an MFP 1, a sound volume adjustment picture is displayed on an LCD 16. When displaying a face image of a speech partner on the sound volume adjustment picture, a transmission sound volume adjustment area is assigned to a mouth region YB of the face image and a reception sound volume adjustment area is assigned to an ear region MB. When the user touches the mouth region YB with a finger according to a preset operation method, transmission sound volume is adjusted. Furthermore, when the user touches the ear region YB with a finger according to a preset operation method, reception sound volume is adjusted. The user easily links "reception sound volume" and "transmission sound volume" from "mouth" and "ear", so that the user can adjust the sound volume of reception voices and transmission voices in the speech intuitively using the face image of the speech partner.
