PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device, capable of increasing the working efficiency of the release operation of an abnormal state by a user, by efficiently displaying operation information corresponding to the release operation of the abnormal state of an image forming apparatus with respect to the user, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the information display device. SOLUTION: In the information display device 5 provided in the image forming apparatus 1 includes a display section 4b and a display control section 8, displaying the operation information corresponding to the release operation of the abnormal state and including a still image S and a moving image T, on the display section 4b, on the basis of the abnormal state detected by a detection section 61 that detects the abnormal state of the image forming apparatus 1, the display control section 8 enables input operation of a selection meansαfor displaying the operation information as the moving image T, when the operation information is displayed as the still image S on the display section 4b.
