摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably maintaining an air-fuel ratio, in start or stop of supply of reformed fuel, or increase or decrease of the reformed fuel. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 10 has a fuel reformable catalyst 28 generating combustible gas by the supply of the reformed fuel. In execution of reformed EGR control, the reformed fuel is supplied to the catalyst 28 by the reformed fuel injection valve 34 and the combustible gas generated in the catalyst 28 is circulated in an intake system. The ECU 50 reduces an amount of main fuel injected by the fuel injection device 18, when an exhaust air-fuel ratio is changed on a rich side from the start of the supply of the reformed fuel or the increase of the reformed fuel amount. Therefore, a temporary excessive lean air-fuel ratio of air-fuel mixture, caused by reduction in injection amount of the main fuel before supply change of the reformed fuel (combustible gas) is reflected on the combustion, is prevented.
