The invention relates to polymer-coated oven board and a closed oxygen im permeable food package formed from it. According to the invention, the coati ng on the board (1) contains an oxygen barrier layer (7) of polyamide (PA) a nd a surface layer (8) of polyethylene terephlatae (PET) adhered to it witho ut a binding agent layer between them. The polymer layers (7, 8) have been p roduced by co-extrusion so that the polyamide layer (7) adheres directly to the board in extrusion. In a closed package according to the invention, the superimposed polyamide and PET layers (7, 8) are located inside the board la yer, and on the outer surface of the package there may be a PET layer (9). T he package is sealed by heat sealing the PET layers. Polyamide has been sele cted so that it withstands heat sealing and the heating of the package in an oven.
