<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with a screen input function for detecting an object on a display surface side by sensitive light sensing without reducing the aperture ratio of pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a display panel 3 having an array of a plurality of pixels, and light sensor elements. The light sensor elements use a transparent oxide semiconductor layer as a light reception part. The light sensor elements are arrayed on a display surface of the display panel 3. The light sensor elements are of a MOS type, and a gate voltage is controlled in a range lower than a threshold voltage in reading a light reception signal.
