PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct image blur with high accuracy relative to shake including various frequency components. SOLUTION: The image blur correcting device includes: an angular velocity sensor 101 detecting the shake; a stepping motor 105 for displacing a correction means 107 which suppresses image degradation caused by the shake; a position detection means 106 detecting a current position of the correction means; a control target calculation means 102 converting shake angular velocity from the angular velocity sensor into a shake displacement signal and calculating a control target position to which the correction means is displaced; and a control means actuating the stepping motor so that the correction means may be displaced from the current position according to the control target position. The control means changes an excitation system of the stepping motor based on the shake angular velocity which has not been converted into the shake displacement signal yet.
