METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS CARBON MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a porous carbon material having a high specific surface area and high performance by a technique which is easier as compared with the conventional art. SOLUTION: The method for producing the porous carbon material comprises the steps of: using a metal coordination polymer compound in which metal atoms, metal ions or metal clusters are connected to each other by a cross-linking ligand and which has a porous structure, as a template; introducing a thermally-polymerizable organic compound into the surface and voids of the metal coordination polymer compound; and heating the organic compound-introduced metal coordination polymer compound to polymerize the thermally-polymerizable organic compound and carbonize the polymerized organic compound.
