The heat exchanger has a humidification material (5) threaded to and vertically extending over a heat exchanger element (1) i.e. tube bundle heat exchanger, via which a medium flows. The medium is delivered from bottom to top by heating the material. A water distributor (7) moistens the material and is arranged over the heat exchanger element. A blower supplies air (4) that flows from top to bottom inside a housing (3) and is moistened by water that is heated by the medium. The heat exchanger element is provided in the housing, where water continuously flows via the housing to the material.
