The adapter (2) has an ambos element (9) that has a pair of connection geometries (11, 14) at an end. A traction element (8) is movably arranged in the ambos element. A tool element (10) i.e. C-frame, is connected with the traction element. The tool element is guided on an outer side of the ambos element. The tool element is twistable against the ambos element. The tool element engages with its end that is proximate the connection geometries in a gap (27), which is formed between the ambos element and a protective sleeve (28). An independent claim is also included for a blind rivet-placing tool.
