A digital image processing device capable of reference composition and a control method are provided to take a photograph by matching the subject structure for photographing with a reference photographing structure. A detection unit(129-1) detects a structure of a subject from a live view image. A setting unit(129-2) sets up a reference structure. A comparison unit(129-3) compares structure and sets up reference structure of the detected subject as described above. A control unit(129-4) controls to make the structure of a subject be same as the reference structure, if the two structures are the same, the image file is produced or stored.
