<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a control-valve type lead-acid battery high in output, light in weight, and long in lifetime in which a pasty active material for a positive electrode is used. <P>SOLUTION: To manufacturer the pasty active material for the positive electrode, a hollow fiber in an amount of 1.0-2.0% by mass is added and mixed to the mixture of slurry with red lead added to dilute a sulfuric acid, lead powder, water, and a phosphoric acid in an amount of 1.5-3.0% by mass. This pasty active material is used to manufacture a paste type positive electrode plate. The paste type positive electrode plate is combined with a conventional paste type negative electrode plate so as to be installed into a battery case as a group of electrodes. An electrolyte which contains colloidal silica having an amount of 3-6% by mass and the phosphoric acid in an amount of 0.5-1.5% by mass is filled into the battery case, and then chemical conversion treatment is performed to manufacture the control-valve type lead-acid battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
