PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a developing device, a photoreceptor and an intermediate transfer body are worn out when toner concentration adjusting processing is performed at monochrome printing process speed (high speed) and color printing process speed (low speed) immediately after the power source of an image forming apparatus is turned on, immediately after a sleep mode is canceled or every time the specified number of sheets are printed. SOLUTION: When shipping or when setting up, a control means (14) of the image forming apparatus performs the toner concentration adjusting processing of one color of black, at first process speed, sets the toner concentration adjusted value of black, and stores the toner concentration adjusted value of one color of black, in a storage device, and it performs the toner concentration adjusting processing of each of four colors of black, cyan, magenta and yellow, at second process speed, sets the toner concentration adjusted value of each of the four colors, and stores it in the storage device (15).
