A cleaning control method of a microwave oven is provided to increase condensation of steam through an initial cooling so that attachment of steam is very much accomplished. A cleaning control method of a microwave oven comprises a step for determining selection of cleaning course; a step(S10) for performing an initial cooling when the cleaning course is selected; a first heat-up step(S12) for heating up the load after the initial cooling; a first soaking step(S14) for leaving after the first heat-up step; a second heat-up step(S16) for re-heating the load after the first soaking step; a second soaking step(S18) for leaving after the second heat-up step; a step(S20) for indicating the cleaning ready after the second soaking step; a step(S22) for determining whether the door is open or not in the state of the cleaning ready; and a step(S24) for drying the inside of the cooling chamber when the door is closed.
