A driving method of an air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to prevent the vehicle RPM from fluctuating relative to the drive of a compressor of the air conditioner. A driving method of an air conditioner for a vehicle comprises: a step of calculating the estimated torque to be generated according to the drive and generating power of a compressor(150) when receiving a driving signal of the compressor; a step of transmitting an engine management system(200) the calculated estimated torque; and a step of driving the compressor with calculated power. The compressor is driven after delay time prescribed depending on the system property of the vehicles from the estimated torque electrical transmission. The delay time is calculated by adding: time for transferring estimated torque data to the engine management system from an air conditioning system control unit; time for processing the date calculating the power of the engine using the estimated torque at the engine management system; and time for increasing the power of the engine according to a control signal of the engine management system.
