A barcode processing apparatus, a sorting apparatus and a barcode processing method are provided to detect double printing of a barcode, thereby exactly performing product management efficiently. An overlapped print detector(23) determines whether barcodes are overlappedly printed based on an image including a barcode obtained by an image obtaining unit(20). When overlapped print of the barcodes is detected, a determination unit(24) determines a recognition result of the barcode due to a decoder(22) as invalid information. When the overlapped print of the barcodes is not detected, the determination unit outputs the recognition result of the barcode due to the decoder.
